Varrika's voice echoes through the passage, her words laced with desperation: "I remember... I remember everything! But it's not mine..." The symbols on the wall begin to glow brighter, casting an eerie light on the walls as the whispering grows louder, a maddening susurration that seems to burrow into Serrine's mind. She clutches her mace tightly, her eyes wide with fear. Merrin steps closer to Varrika, concern etched on her face. "Varrika, what do you mean? What's not yours?" The air hums with an ancient power, and the ground beneath their feet begins to tremble, as if the very foundations of the tower are shifting in response to Varrika's words.

I move closer to Varrika, my brow furrowed in concern as I try to understand her cryptic words. "Varrika, what do you mean? What's not yours?" The air is thick with an ancient power, the ground trembling beneath our feet as if the very foundations of the tower are shifting in response to her desperation.

I glance around, my senses on high alert for any sign of danger. The symbols on the wall glow brighter, casting an eerie light that seems to pulse in time with the maddening susurration that fills the air. "We're here for you," I say, my voice steady despite the fear that claws at my heart. "Whatever this test is, whatever they want from us... we'll face it together."

I take a deep breath, trying to calm the frantic hammering of my own heart. The thought of losing myself, of having my very memories stripped away... it's a fate worse than death. But for Varrika, for the chance to hold the Time-Splitting Sword... I'll risk anything. "We can do this," I say, more to myself than to her. "Whatever comes next, we'll face it as one." I grip my mace tighter, the cold metal a grounding sensation against my clammy palm. The air hums with an ancient power, a promise and a threat all at once. But I don't let it shake me. Not now, not when so much is at stake. "Varrika," I say softly, my voice barely audible over the rising chaos. "We're here for you. No matter what happens, we'll get through this together."

I watch Varrika with growing concern, her words echoing in my mind: "I remember... I remember everything! But it's not mine..." The thought of losing our own memories, of having the very essence of who we are stripped away... it chills me to the bone. The symbols on the wall seem to pulse in time with the maddening susurration that fills the air, an oppressive force pressing down upon us all.
Merrin's voice cuts through the chaos, a steady anchor of calm amidst the storm. "We're here for you," she says, her tone firm and unwavering. I feel a swell of gratitude towards her, a silent acknowledgment that we are indeed in this together.
My mind races, trying to find some way out of this trap, some loophole in the tower's demands. But deep down, I know there is no escape. This test, whatever it may be, requires a sacrifice. And if that sacrifice must be our memories... then so be it.
"Ich," I mutter under my breath, a prayer more than a curse. "If this is what it takes to find Varrika, to prove our worth and hold the Time-Splitting Sword... then we have no choice but to face it head-on."
I take a step forward into the darkness, my senses straining against the oppressive silence. Each step feels like a lifetime, each shadow a potential trap waiting to be sprung. But I don’t stop. We can’t stop now. Not until we know what happened to Varrika, not until we understand the true nature of this test. And if that means facing the greatest fear of all... the loss of ourselves... then so be it. Whatever comes next, we’ll face it as one.
