Round 50 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As I continue to weave the intricate patterns of the counter-seal, the creature lunges towards me with unnatural speed, its eyes blazing with an otherworldly hunger. I stumble backward, my hands glowing with a faint blue light as I desperately try to maintain the seal's structure. The ground shakes violently beneath our feet, and the air is filled with the acrid smell of decay as the stone around the ward seal begins to crumble. A chunk of rock crashes to the floor, barely missing me as it shatters into a hundred pieces. The sound sends a chill down my spine, and I know we're running out of time. The creature's jaws are now mere inches from my face, its hot breath washing over me like a wave of flame. I can feel its power surging through me, threatening to overwhelm me at any moment. Suddenly, the seal shudders and begins to destabilize, its blue glow faltering as the creature's grip on it tightens.
I take a deep breath, my fingers trembling as I continue to weave the intricate patterns of the counter-seal. The creature lunges towards me, its sunken eyes burning with an otherworldly hunger, but I do not falter. This is my burden to bear, my mistake to atone for, and I will not rest until it is done.
I stumble backward, my robes rustling against the stone floor as I try to maintain my balance.
I know that I must act quickly, before the seal collapses completely and unleashes whatever dark forces lie beyond it. With a final surge of strength, I thrust my hands forward, channeling all of my remaining energy into the counter-seal. The blue light flares brilliantly, bathing the chamber in an otherworldly glow, and the creature lets out a roar of pain as it is thrown back by the force of the magic.
But even as the seal stabilizes, I can feel my own strength fading. My limbs feel heavy, my vision blurred, and I stagger backward, nearly losing my balance. Merrin and Varrika rush to my side, their voices filled with concern as they help me to stand.
"Serrine!" Merrin cries out, her face etched with worry. "Are you alright? What happened?"
I shake my head, trying to clear the fog from my mind. "I... I don't know," I manage to gasp out. "The seal... it was drawing power from somewhere. I couldn't stop it."
Varrika's brow furrows as she studies the creature, which now lies motionless on the ground, its form still crackling with the remnants of the counter-seal's energy. "This thing... it's not natural," she mutters, her voice filled with a mix of awe and revulsion.
I nod weakly, my hands still trembling from the effort of maintaining the seal. "We need to get out of here," I whisper, my voice hoarse with exhaustion. "Before whatever else is down here decides to pay us a visit."
Merrin and Varrika exchange a glance, their faces grim with the knowledge of what lies ahead. But there's no time to dwell on it now. We have to move, to find a way out of this accursed place before it claims us all.
With a final surge of strength, I stagger to my feet, my robes hanging in tatters around my shoulders. "Let's go," I murmur, my voice barely audible over the sound of the crumbling stone. "We have a long way to go, and a lot of darkness yet to face."
