Seraphine's sharp gaze sweeps the precarious ledge as she backs away from the advancing horror, her robes whispering against stone. The tunnel walls groan like a dying beast, flakes of ancient mortar dancing with each rumble. She stumbles over a section of crumbling floor, her injured ankle protesting the sudden weight. Fucking hells! Her voice cuts through the oppressive silence as she catches herself against the wall, the rough stone scraping against her palms.

Jeane stands her ground between Seraphine and the creature, her mace held steady despite the trembling in her hands. The thing's tendrils writhe like a nest of living shadows, each movement sending fresh waves of dread through her. Stay back! She calls over her shoulder, her voice barely masking the fear choking her throat. The creature takes another step forward, and she feels the stone beneath her feet shift ominously.
