Seraphine helped Jeane stand, supporting the still-shaky sorceress with an arm around her waist. The water in the reflection pool churned violently, sending waves crashing against the stone walls with a loud splashing sound. Seraphine's keen eyes widened as she saw the dark reflections of Merrin and Halie take a menacing step forward, their twisted faces mere inches from Jeane's. Their eyes burned with an otherworldly energy that made the fine hairs on her arms stand on end.

The ground shook again, more violently this time. With a grinding sound of stone on stone, a section of the wall behind them slid open, revealing a narrow passageway that seemed to stretch deep into the earth. The air from within was cold and smelled of damp earth and something else—something ancient and wrong.

Jeane's legs wobbled as she took her first step towards Seraphine, leaning heavily on her friend for support. "Those... things are watching us," Jeane said, her voice barely above a whisper. "The pool called to them, pulled them here just like it tried to pull us under." She gestured towards the twisted mockery of their companions with a trembling hand. "Whatever magic fuels this place wants something from us—alive and moving deeper into its depths."

Seraphine felt a cold sweat bead on her skin as she watched the dark reflections, their expressions a mix of cruel amusement and malevolent intent. The air grew heavier, thicker with an otherworldly presence that made every hair on her neck stand on end. "Jeane is right—this place wants something from us, and it won't let us leave easily." Her hand instinctively went to her staff, fingers tracing the familiar runes carved into its worn wood. The magic within it felt sluggish, as if the very stone of this chamber was leaching away its power.

The water in the pool began to swirl again, faster this time, and Seraphine couldn't shake the feeling that they were being herded... guided deeper into the tower's heart by forces beyond their understanding.
