As Jeane steps forward to confront the twisted reflection, it vanishes into her body with a sickening pop. She stumbles back, clutching at her chest, and Seraphine rushes to her side, concern etched on her face. "Jeane, are you alright?" Seraphine cries out, her voice trembling with worry. "What happened?"

As Seraphine supports Jeane, the pool of water behind them begins to churn and foam, as if reacting to the disturbance in the air. The luminescent fungus on the walls pulses brighter, casting an eerie glow over the chamber. Jeane's eyes are wide and unfocused, her gaze darting wildly between Seraphine and the pool. She attempts to speak, but her words come out incoherent mumblings. Suddenly, her head snaps back, and she gasps, "I... I see it," her voice barely above a whisper. "I see us, trapped in this labyrinth, forever."

I stare at Jeane, my heart hammering against my ribs like a trapped bird. The air in the chamber feels thick, heavy with an ancient magic I can’t begin to comprehend. "Trapped?" I repeat her words, my voice a strained whisper. The luminescent fungus on the walls seems to pulse in time with my racing heart.
I feel a sudden chill trace its way down my spine as Jeane's eyes focus on something behind me. A low, guttural growl echoes from deeper within the labyrinth, a sound of pure malevolence that seems to vibrate through the very stone under our feet. The reflection in the pool... it wasn't just a trick of the light. It was a warning.
My fingers tighten around my staff until my knuckles turn white. I have to be strong now, even if all I want is to run screaming from this place. "Jeane," I say, my voice regaining some of its usual steady calm, "we need to move. Whatever that thing was, it's not the only threat here."
I take a cautious step towards the source of the sound, my ears straining for any movement in the shadows. The water in the pool begins to swirl again, and I feel a fresh wave of dread wash over me. "Can you walk? We need to find the others and get out of this maze before whatever is controlling these reflections decides to pay us another visit."
I extend my free hand towards Jeane, offering her support. My mind races, trying to process the implications of what just happened. A reflection taking control... could that be how Merrin was lost? Or Halie? The thought sends a fresh jolt of fear through me. "Jeane," I repeat, my tone more urgent now, "we have to go. Now."
