Round 6 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Silra crouches, pressing her ear to the cold stone. A low rumble vibrates beneath the ground, confirming movement but revealing no clear indication of whether it is a mechanical trap or an undead creature. The floor shudders slightly, leaving a faint echo that may alert the party to the presence of something lurking below.
Jeane drops to one knee and presses her palm flat against the floorboards. She closes her eyes and hums a low incantation, channeling her sorcerous power into the very structure of the church itself—a spell not for protection but for revelation. "I weave a secondary ward to specifically detect hidden traps and pressure plates beneath the floorboards, focusing my sorcerous energy into the stone itself."
The magic responds instantly, and Jeane gasps as she feels it spread outward like roots seeking darkness. The sensation is immediate—there's nothing beneath her hand or near the main doors. But toward the altar, in the shadowed nave where the pews stand overturned... "…a tripwire runs parallel to the floorboards, tied to a bell somewhere in the ceiling above." Her voice is tight with concentration. "It's old craftsmanship—someone wanted to know if anyone approached the altar itself."
I move to a different section of the floor and listen again, then trace patterns in the dust for signs of recent disturbance—tracks, cracks, pressure points. I'm looking for distinct physical evidence over vague vibrations. The dust shows nothing obviously disturbed, no cracks that weren't always there, but as my fingers slide along a seemingly ordinary flagstone near the western wall, it shifts almost imperceptibly under light pressure. A trap? Or something living pushing up from below? Either way, we now have a specific location and a potential mechanism.
She moves to stand directly between Gravedigger Renn and the street, her posture defensive but non-threatening, mace held low in a stance that suggests ready protection rather than aggression. "Stay behind me," she says quietly, her voice steady despite the tremor in her hands. "You've done nothing wrong here—no one needs to get hurt over old secrets." The rumble beneath them intensifies slightly at her movement, as if responding to the increased presence above.
