Round 5 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Silra grits her teeth as the heat washes over them. Oh, this is perfect. We're being ambushed by dead architecture and its angry magma pet. She slides her dagger back into its sheath with a sharp click, then crouches again, studying the seam she traced. This isn't natural—someone engineered this trap. Look at the joinery on that slab. To Jeane: If you're going to burn something, aim for the mechanism I just found, not the rope. That slag's getting closer every second. She pulls out her rusted key from the dead magistrate. This thing might fit something down there if we can get a proper look without dying.
I understand the scene:
Jeane's move:
Jeane plants her unholy symbol into the ground like a stake driven through a heart, her voice cutting through the grinding stone with cold certainty. "Silra! Two seconds—tell me if that mechanism can be disabled." She doesn't wait for permission; power coils in her hands, visible as dark energy made manifest, pulsing with the rhythm of forbidden rites. "Sister Hale, pull back—the heat will scorch your robes if I do this correctly."
The world resolves:
Jeane channels a surge of unholy flame down the rope's length toward the molten flow, creating a barrier that hisses and sparks as it meets the advancing heat. The rope chars but doesn't break immediately—enough time for Silra to work or for them all to retreat if she can't hold the line. The stench of burning hemp fills the air, acrid and warning.*
The molten rock responds with a hungry surge, sensing fresh fuel. Jeane grits her teeth against the feedback; this kind of power has a price in exhaustion and small corruptions that only she feels. But it bought them seconds, which is all she needed to ask. "Silra—now."
I grab Gravedigger Renn by his collar before Silra can kick him away again. "Stop it," I snap at her, my voice sharp despite the weariness in my bones. "We don't abandon those we promised to protect." The steam singes my skin and the heat from that molten line is like a demon's breath on my back. To Jeane: "I'll help you contain this if we must fight it, but let's not start throwing magic until we know what we're dealing with. That pit has teeth and I'd rather not see what happens when we wake its belly."
