Phase: escalating

The air in the dimly lit chamber seemed to vibrate with anticipation as the group held their collective breath, the ground's three-beat rhythm stabilizing into a deliberate, pulsing cadence. Sister Hale's hands rested firmly on her holy symbol, her eyes fixed intently on the glowing plates above, while Jeane stood ready defensively to Silra's left, her crimson eyes drinking in the eerie scene. The silence that followed was oppressive, punctuated only by the steady glow of the runes on the sarcophagi.
Silra shifted her weight onto the pressure plates, her lithe form settling into a cautious stance, as if anticipating a trap. "I'm not committing to anything yet," she whispered, her teal eyes scanning the chamber for any sign of movement. The ground beneath her pulsed in rhythmic sequence, and she could feel Gravedigger Renn's fear-smell wafting through the air, threatening to overwhelm her senses.
Sister Hale's voice cut through the tension, her words laced with a mix of caution and curiosity. "This deliberate three-pulse rhythm isn't random subsidence or collapsing ruins," she said, her eyes locked on Jeane. "Whatever's buried down here is responding to our presence with intention, and that intelligence makes this more dangerous than simple traps." The cleric's gaze flicked towards Gravedigger Renn, who stood frozen against the wall, his fear-smell reaching saturation point.
As the silence stretched out, Jeane felt a shiver run down her spine. She could sense the rhythm shifting under their feet, becoming deliberate instead of random. "THRUM-THRUM-THUD," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the pounding of her heart. The heartbeat pulse traveled up through the stone into her bones, and she knew that they were no longer alone in the chamber. Whatever was down there, it was responding to their presence, and Jeane's instincts told her that this was only the beginning of a far greater danger.
