The massive chitinous limb has been present in the area for several rounds, causing scuttling noise and ash bursts. It has recently emerged from the ground, attacking Sister Hale and Gravedigger Renn. The creature's claws swiped at Sister Hale's face, but she pulled Gravedigger Renn back just in time. The young informant cried out as he was knocked to the ground.

I see it now—the thing has been hunting us, stalking us from beneath since we reached this road. Gravedigger Renn wasn’t imagining it.
