Gravedigger Renn stammers, "It's coming out! The tunnels are opening up!" He points frantically at the grating in the ground, where fresh ash is spilling out in rhythmic bursts. Sister Hale's grip on her holy symbol tightens as she strains against whatever's pulling her away from the street. The massive chitinous limb re-emerges from the darkness, its claws now visible as it scrabbles against stone mere inches from her face. The voice whispers again, its words dripping with malevolent glee: 'You should have listened...' Fresh ash spills out of the grating in rhythmic bursts. Sister Hale manages to pry the loose brick free from the wall and swings herself against the grating, but the unknown force holding her pulls her away. She lunges forward, desperately trying to reach Gravedigger Renn or something that can help them before it's too late.
