He pointed frantically at the grating in the ground, where fresh ash was spilling out in rhythmic bursts. Sister Hale's grip on her holy symbol tightened as she felt herself being pulled closer to Gravedigger Renn.

The massive chitinous limb re-emerged from the darkness, its claws now visible as it scrabbled against stone mere inches from Sister Hale's face. The raspy voice whispered again, its malevolent intent dripping from every syllable: "Turn back...while you still can..." The air was heavy with tension as Sister Hale realized she was being dragged into the unknown, her body resisting the restraints that bound her to the wall. With a surge of adrenaline, she managed to pry loose a brick from the wall and swung herself against the grating, using her momentum to swing towards Gravedigger Renn.
