Gravedigger Renn's frantic words hung in the air as he pointed towards the tunnel system, his eyes wide with terror. The city guard leader hesitated, his hand still gripping his sword hilt, before finally responding, "We need to get out of here." His growl was laced with urgency, and the party exchanged nervous glances, sensing a shift in the situation. As one, they turned their attention back to Gravedigger Renn, who trembled beneath their scrutiny.

The scuttling noise ceased abruptly, plunging the ash-choked road into an unsettling silence. The only sound was the heavy breathing of the party members and the distant rumble of thunder beneath the stormy sky. Sister Hale stood firm beside Gravedigger Renn, her gaze unwavering as she pressed him for answers. "I need to know what's happening," she said, her voice steady despite the fear that trembled beneath it.

Gravedigger Renn took a step forward, his eyes darting towards the tunnel system once more. "P-please, you have to believe me! There's something down there, something that's been awakened." His words were laced with desperation, and Sister Hale's expression remained resolute. The massive chitinous limb, which had burst forth from the darkness mere moments before, lay motionless on the ground, its presence still palpable in the air.
