The air was heavy with the acrid scent of charred stone and smoke, and the only sound was the soft patter of rain against the darkened sky. Gravedigger Renn's frantic warnings about 'the tunnels' and 'danger below' echoed through the ruins once more, growing louder with each passing moment.

Jeane met Silra's teal gaze with crimson intensity, her fingers tracing the unholy symbol at her throat absently as she thought aloud. "Renn mentioned tunnels, plural," she said, her voice steady despite the rising unease. "Whatever's down there knows this infrastructure better than we do and has engineered a specific weak point for us to fall through." She stepped closer to the opening, arcane energy pooling at her fingertips in readiness. The rasping voice from nearby rubble seemed to grow louder, its warning echoing in her mind: "Turn back...while you still can..."
