Phase: escalating

As the raspy voice echoed through the ruins once more, Jeane's gaze snapped toward the sound, her crimson eyes burning with a fierce intensity. "It's not just a warning," she said, her voice steady and commanding. "Whatever is down there knows we're here, and it's adapting its attack to test our defenses." She raised a hand, tracing the unholy symbol at her throat as if seeking guidance from the arcane energies that coursed through her.
Sister Hale took another step forward, her makeshift club at the ready, while Silra swiftly secured her lantern, its light casting flickering shadows on the walls. The elf rogue moved to position herself beside Jeane, her eyes scanning the stonework around the grating with a practiced intensity. "We need to know what we're up against," Silra said, her voice low and urgent. "The scraping sounds are coordinated, but that doesn't mean there's only one creature down there." She crouched low, studying the stonework as if searching for hidden patterns or weaknesses.
Jeane's gaze never wavered from the grating, her senses on high alert for any sign of movement or danger. "Renn said something about tunnels," she said, her voice thoughtful. "Whatever is down there knows these ruins better than we do, and it's using that knowledge to our advantage." The voice echoed through the ruins once more, its tone growing more menacing with each passing moment. "Turn back...while you still can..." Jeane's response was immediate and decisive.
