As the massive creature took a step forward, its rhythmic breathing synchronized and prepared for action, Sister Hale's blue symbol flared brighter in response. She stood firm, waiting for the figure to speak, while Silra drew both throwing knives, holding them ready but loose as she scanned the visible perimeter for potential escape routes or ambush points. The creature took another step forward, its massive form unfolding from the shadows, and Gravedigger Renn's spine shivered at the synchronized effort.

Silra's teal eyes tracked movement near city limits markers, her pointed ears straining for any sound that didn't belong to the creature ahead. "I'll watch our six against those shifting shadows," she said, her voice low and cautious. "Something about them feels wrong beyond normal graveyard creepy." She marked three viable escape paths through collapsed rubble, each requiring acrobatic movement but possible with her rogue skills.

Sister Hale remained still, her blue symbol pulsing in time with her heartbeat, as the creature's heavy breathing filled the ash-choked air like some great engine of patience or predation. The shadows at city limits seemed to pulse again, responding almost purposefully to their presence. Silra's rogue training screamed warning, and Sister Hale sensed it in the tension of her shoulders despite her casual posture with those knives. Arachne's stone form stood silently behind them, its enigmatic nature a reminder that not all allies were what they seemed.
