The narrow passageway led deeper into Gravehill's undercroft, the air thick with anticipation. Arachne's stone body shifted subtly, her gaze fixed on Sister Hale's unholy symbol, before settling on the rusted key clutched in Silra's hand. The ground shuddered once more, and the scratching sound from below grew louder, as if the darkness beneath Gravehill was stirring in response to Arachne's presence.
Sister Hale stepped through the opened door into the corridor beyond, her symbol held ready, her eyes scanning the walls and ceiling for any sign of structural weakness or hidden threats. The air here was stale but calculated, like a mausoleum designed by someone who intended every breath to echo with meaning. Silra followed closely behind, her teal eyes scanning for traps or signs of tampering as she approached the passageway marked by Arachne's subtle shift.
As they ventured deeper into the undercroft, the scratching sound intensified, and the ground vibrated beneath their feet. The rusted key turned smoothly in the lock, its age a testament to the passage of time. Silra muttered under her breath, her fingers still curled around the key, as she pushed open the door to reveal the next stage of their journey.
