As Silra finished her explanation, Arachne's gaze lingered on the rusted key in Silra's hand, a hint of approval flickering across her stone-like face. "A clever answer," she said, her voice dripping with an inner fire that seemed to sear the air around them. The pulsing rhythm of the walls quickened like a drumbeat, and the silence that had fallen earlier was oppressive, punctuated only by Arachne's expectant stare.

Sister Hale watched Silra's reaction, her own eyes narrowed in calculation. She remembered the weight of responsibility settling upon her shoulders, the need to balance faith with caution. As she spoke, her hand tightened around the grip of her mace, a gesture of reassurance to Silra that she stood by her side.

Arachne's burning gaze seemed to bore into Silra, as if searching for any sign of deception or weakness. The air grew colder still, and the rusted key in Silra's pack felt heavier, its weight a tangible reminder of the choices they were about to make. "A broken lock can be fixed," Arachne said finally, her voice like a challenge, "but can you apply that principle to my riddle?"
