Phase: escalating

The ground trembled beneath their feet, and the water circulation intensified as Sister Hale finished speaking. The figure's glowing eyes flashed brighter, its voice echoing through the tunnel once more. "Three hundred years is a long nap to wake up from," it responded in a layered tone, "and our trials will prove worthy vessels for your purpose." The air vibrated with anticipation as Silra darted forward, her eyes fixed on the figure.
Sister Hale approached cautiously, her steady eyes scanning the tunnel for any signs of danger. She had been concerned about the old magic and potential traps, but the figure's response suggested that it was more intelligent than she had initially thought. "What kind of trials?" she asked, her voice measured and curious. The ground trembled slightly beneath their feet as the water circulation around them intensified.
The humanoid entity reached out again, its fingers passing through the surface of the circulating water without breaking the flow. Silra watched intently, her mind racing with possibilities as she scanned the chamber once more. Eight distinct transparent humanoids still circulated at knee-level, maintaining formation despite Hale's movement back slightly. Whatever breathes stone down here clearly had control over these liquid manifestations, and Silra was determined to uncover its secrets.
