Jeane's grip on Silra's shoulder tightens as Hera moves to intervene. The succubus doesn't flinch—her eyes stay locked on the elf. 'You don't tell me what to do, human.' Her voice is colder than the steel in her hands. 'Silra and I have an understanding. Don't you, girl?' She gives the shoulder a little shake. 'Tell Hera what happens to people who interfere with building contracts.'

Silra's face shows strain as she works the welder, sweat beading on her forehead. She doesn't look up from the metal, but her voice carries clear warning. 'Jeane, don't.' The psychic pressure in the room intensifies, making Abby's stomach churn. 'You want to talk about contracts? Fine. But not like this.'

The building groans around them, a low rumble that shakes the floorboards. The temperature rises another degree, and the air tastes like ozone and sex. Hera stands her ground between them, hands on hips, looking utterly out of place in this power dynamic. 'Jeane, stand down. We're not doing this your way.'

Abby shrinks back against the wall, helpless to intervene. The situation is spiraling fast—Jeane's patience wearing thin, Silra under pressure, Hera confronting a monster, and the building demanding satisfaction louder with every passing second.*

I step between Jeane and Silra before this escalates further. "Jeane, stop," I say, my voice firm but not aggressive. The building's demands are clear—they want us to perform sexual acts—but there has to be a better way than terrorizing our own. Silra doesn't need this pressure right now; she's trying to keep the damn structure from collapsing around us all. I turn to face Jeane fully, meeting her eyes despite the unease settling in my gut. "You're out of control again," I tell her plainly. "The succubus is riding you hard, and you know what happens when that gets worse—we lose you as an ally."

I glance at Hera, then back to Jeane. "We don't need contracts enforced with violence. We need each other functional if we're getting out of here alive." My skin feels hot already from the building's atmosphere changing again, but I push past it. "Step back and let Silra work before this whole place comes down on us all."

My hand moves instinctively toward my holy symbol—I want to pray for calm, for control—but there's no divine intervention here. Just us, stuck in this hellish high-rise while Jeane's demon nature threatens everything we're trying to accomplish. This isn't about morality or chastity now—it's about survival and keeping our small group from tearing itself apart before the building does it for us.

I step forward between Jeane and Silra, arms raised in a placating gesture. "Jeane, stop this right now," I command firmly. "We're all on edge, but there's no need for threats." I turn to Silra, my voice gentler. "Silra, please focus on the repairs. We'll figure out the rest later."

To Abby, I say quietly, "Stay calm. I won't let Jeane hurt anyone." Then, raising my voice to address the whole group, "Everyone, just breathe. We have a situation here, but panicking will only make it worse."

I turn back to Jeane, my eyes narrowed in suspicion. "Jeane, what exactly are these 'consequences' you're talking about? Because I don't recall signing any contract that binds us." I take a step towards her, my posture tense but not aggressive. "And if there is such a contract, I want to see it right now."

My heart races as I feel the psychic pressure intensifying, but I force myself to stay calm and focused. We need to resolve this conflict peacefully, but I'm also determined to get to the bottom of Jeane's mysterious knowledge about our situation.
