Halie's blue-grey eyes narrowed as she watched Jeane lean over Silra's shoulder, her wings ruffling with barely contained impatience. The succubus's tone was dismissive, her words carrying an undercurrent of frustration mixed with something darker—impish amusement perhaps, or genuine confusion at Silra's resistance.

The elf remained stoic, focused on the blueprints spread across the table. She'd spent hours drafting potential solutions, her technical mind seeking an escape from Jeane's insidious suggestions. Now, as the succubus leaned closer, her breasts pressing against Silra's back and her clawed finger tracing lines on the paper, something in the cleric shifted.

"This isn't about pretense or 'tediousness,'" Halie interjected sharply, her voice cutting through the tension. "It's about dignity and consent—concepts you seem to find... foreign." She slid the assembly line blueprint toward Silra, her eyes never leaving Jeane's face. "We can build this together—constructing something physical, mechanical, without touching each other in ways that compromise our autonomy."

Jeane's crimson eyes flickered to Halie, a smirk playing at the corners of her mouth. "Oh? And how long do you think this little... assembly line... will satisfy the building’s appetite? A day? Two?" She circled Silra slowly, her wings extending to their full span in a deliberate display of power and grace. "Face facts, little cleric. Your god didn’t protect you from this situation, and your moral posturing won’t change its nature."

Halie's jaw tightened, but she met Jeane's gaze steadily. "Perhaps my god didn't prevent this—but I believe She gives us choices in how we respond. Building something together, collaboratively, doesn't require the kind of... intimacy... you're proposing." She placed a hand on Silra’s shoulder—a gesture of solidarity, not possession. "We have skills beyond just our bodies. Let's use them."

Silra looked up from the blueprints, her amber eyes meeting Halie’s with something like gratitude. Then she turned to Jeane, her expression unreadable. "I appreciate both your... visions... ladies. But I need to examine these designs further before commenting." She gathered the papers carefully, a small smile tugging at her lips—a sign perhaps that she was considering Halie's approach more seriously than Jeane’s.

Jeane let out an exasperated sigh, her wings folding against her back with a soft rustle of leather. "Fine. Examine away. But don't say I didn’t offer you the easier option." She flounced over to the suite’s expansive windows, arms crossed under her breasts, staring out at the New York skyline with barely concealed irritation.

Halie watched her go, then turned back to Silra. "We'll find a way through this—together. One that doesn't involve... her methods." Her voice was soft but firm, a prayer disguised as conversation.
