Abby

Abby · Civilian

I watch in horror as the succubus Jeane spreads her wings, revealing their true form. They’re massive, leathery, and covered in fine scales, glinting like polished obsidian under the dim light of the penthouse suite. The sight is terrifyingly real, confirming my deepest fears about what she really is.
My heart hammers against my ribs as I take a step back, my bare feet silent on the plush carpet. All around me, the sounds of the party seem to fade into a distant hum, replaced by the roaring of blood in my ears. The other women are still lost in their own pleasures, oblivious to the monster among us.
"I need to get out of here," I whisper under my breath, the words so faint they’re almost lost to my own frantic breathing.
My gaze darts around the room, searching for an escape route. The heavy doors that led us in seem impossibly distant now, blocked by a sea of writhing bodies. Even if I could reach them, Jeane would surely stop me. My eyes land on Silra, who stands apart from the chaos, her expression one of cautious observation rather than mindless ecstasy.
She seems aware, maybe even suspicious. She might be my only chance. Gathering every ounce of courage I possess, I start to push through the crowd towards her, my body tensing as I pass too close to Jeane. The succubus doesn't look at me, but a shiver runs down my spine nonetheless, as if her very presence is a physical touch.
When I reach Silra, I grab her arm, pulling her into a shadowed corner near the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the city below. My voice comes out in a desperate, frantic whisper. "You have to help me," I plead, my eyes wide with terror. "We need to get out of here now. Jeane... she's not human. She’s a succubus!"

Silra

Silra · Rogue

Silra watched Hera's aggressive approach toward the succubus, her eyes narrowing. This was exactly the kind of impulsive posturing she'd been expecting from the human—all heat and no strategy. She stepped between them smoothly, a hand on Hera's arm to restrain her. "Easy now," Silra drawled, her voice dripping with disdain. "No need to start a war just because your ego was bruised." Her gaze flickered past Hera to Jeane, noting the way the succubus stood ready despite Hera's verbal assault. Something wasn't quite right here—too much restraint from someone whose nature screamed for chaos. Jeane's attention had drifted toward Abby, her eyes gleaming with something that went beyond simple hunger. That was interest of a different kind entirely—the predatory focus of a predator who'd found its next meal walking unguarded into the den. Silra felt a cold knot form in her stomach. "Hera," she said, keeping her voice light but firm, "why don't you go fetch us some drinks? I'm parched after all this excitement." She didn't wait for an answer before steering Hera toward the bar area with practiced ease, putting distance between the hot-headed woman and the far more dangerous one. Once they were out of immediate earshot, Silra turned back to Jeane fully. Her hand drifted casually toward her missing blade—no, not missing. Hidden. The familiar weight was there at her hip, concealed beneath loose folds of fabric. She hadn't drawn it yet because starting a fight wasn't the answer, but having it ready was always wise. "You've been quiet," Silra observed, circling Jeane slowly like a cat stalking its prey. "Almost too quiet. Usually when you're this well-behaved, someone's about to get very, very dead." Her smile didn't reach her eyes as she continued, voice dropping to a dangerous purr, "Or maybe just very, very fucked. Which is it this time? You planning on feasting on the little virgin over there?"

Hera

Hera · Civilian

I watch Silra carefully as she approaches Jeane. My stomach twists into knots, unsure if I can trust the elf rogue. What is her angle here? Is she really trying to help protect Abby, or does she have some other agenda? Meanwhile, my eyes keep darting back to Abby. Poor thing looks terrified, huddled up against that wall like a frightened mouse. She's so far out of her element here... I feel a pang of guilt for even suggesting this crazy scheme. But there's no going back now. We're in too deep. All we can do is try to minimize the damage and get Abby out of here as soon as possible, with her dignity and sanity intact. I take a deep breath and straighten up, squaring my shoulders. Time to play the part of the fearless leader, even if I'm terrified on the inside.
