The floor creaks ominously, and the air is thick with tension.

Silra

Silra · Rogue

I drop into darkness behind them, squeezing through gaps in floorboards while the wardstone pulses like a heartbeat matching the building's death rattle. The service tunnel is narrow, choked with dust and the smell of old water damage—better than facing whatever waits beyond that door. The structure groans above me as I crawl forward, fingers finding rusted pipes and crumbling insulation. Water seeps through here too, but it's controlled chaos compared to their situation. Jeane's voice echoes behind me, sharp with panic and anger, but distance dulls the edges. Good riddance to that. I can feel the wardstone energy even down here, pulsing in time with my own heartbeat or maybe controlling it now. Doesn't matter which. What matters is finding a way up before the whole damn building comes down on all our heads. I've got maybe sixty seconds to find an exit route from this hellhole before they're crushed back there. The tunnel forks ahead—left leads deeper into darkness, right angles sharply upward toward what sounds like the main shaft. My gut says left is a dead end, but right feels exposed. Either way, we're all fucked if I don't move now. I push forward into the darkness without waiting for permission or agreement because sometimes you have to make the choice even when every option sucks equally bad.

Halie

Halie · Cleric

Halie shifts her grip on the mirror, trying desperately to brace the door against the increasing wardstone energy and the ominous groans of the collapsing building. Her burned hands scream in protest, but she grits her teeth. 'This isn't working,' Halie calls out, frustration evident in her voice. 'The floor's too slick with water and... other fluids. I can't get enough traction.' She glances back at Hera pressed against her, then to Jeane struggling with the dildo and demonic power. 'Unless someone has a better idea, we're all going down together when this floor gives way.'

She pauses, hearing Silra's muffled voice from below. 'Silra found something! But she needs time.' Halie's eyes narrow as she looks at Jeane, then back to the unstable barricade. 'I can try to hold this for another minute, maybe two if my hands don't completely fail me first.'

Her voice drops in volume but maintains its clarity. 'But I need honesty here. How long before that wardstone energy breaches through? Because right now, it feels like we're trapped between being crushed by concrete and corrupted by ancient magic.'
