Jeane's breasts ached with contained magical energy, nipples hardening as she strained to maintain the wardstone spell. The floor creaked and groaned around her, timbers shifting ominously. Silra's voice cut through the din, "Jeane, I've found a mirror that might help! It's heavy, but it'll stabilize the barricade." She hefted the mirror into position, the glass shuddering as she set it against the door frame. As the wardstone energy surged, the air around them seemed to thicken, making it harder to breathe. Hera, still pressed against the wall, cried out in distress, "The force behind this... it's not natural!" Her voice was laced with a growing sense of desperation. The wardstone's pulse grew stronger, its energy washing over Jeane like a cold wave. With a Herculean effort, Halie managed to keep her hands on the door frame, her face twisted in a grimace. "Hera, get back! This floor is giving way!" The sound of the building's structural collapse drew closer, the timbers cracking and splintering in the distance. The pressure shifts from waiting to immediate risk as the wardstone's energy surges, threatening to overwhelm Jeane's control.

Silra

Silra · Rogue

The floor groans like a dying beast beneath my boots. We're running out of time faster than water drains from a broken pipe—and there's plenty of that leaking around here too. Jeane's voice cracks through the darkness, desperate: "Silra!"

She needs me back there now, but the door won't hold much longer like this. I drag the heavy mirror across slick tiles—every second feels like an hour when the building is coming down around your ears—and brace it against the frame with a solid thud. Halic's voice calls out: "Hera! Stay back—the floor is giving way!"

The wardstone pulses again, stronger this time. It wants us, wants Jeane specifically—her magic tastes too good to whatever ancient evil sleeps down there. I press my palm flat against the cold glass of the mirror, feeling the vibrations travel up my arm. We need another way out or we're all going down with this place. The dark corridor beyond the door shifts in the gloom—it's getting worse out there too.

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

The spell wavers—one more pulse and I won't contain it. My breasts throb, milk leaking through silk despite the binding. "Silra! Get back here NOW!" My voice cracks with strain, magic tearing at my concentration like teeth on skin. The wardstone pulses again, each beat driving spikes of pain through my skull. Hera's screaming isn't helping—her panic is a virus infecting everyone else's nerves. I drop to one knee, hand pressed against the corridor wall for support as the building groans overhead. My other hand keeps the spell active by sheer force of will and demonic heritage I'd rather not advertise right now. Sweat slicks my skin beneath expensive robes that feel utterly inadequate protection from whatever's in that dark hallway or the collapsing structure. "Hera," I gasp between pulses, "get away from the door before it—" But the next wardstone beat cuts me off mid-sentence and I bite back a cry as my magic fights against something old and hungry. My nipples harden painfully beneath fabric, leaking milk in rhythm with each pulse. Silra's got the mirror braced now at least—something solid against the door frame. But it won't hold forever and neither will my concentration if Hera keeps shrieking like that or if Halie's burns make her let go. The floor tilts subtly beneath us, water mixing with lubricant to create a dangerously slick surface. I need to end this before we're crushed or the wardstone pulls whatever's inside out into this hallway. But ending it requires either destroying something I don't understand enough to target properly or... accepting help that comes with too many questions and complications.

Halie

Halie · Cleric

Halie braces her burned hands against the door frame as the mirror slides into position beside her, adding another layer of barricade. The wardstone pulses through the wood like a sick heartbeat, each wave making her skin crawl and her stomach turn. "Stay back from the door!" she calls out to Hera across the slick floor between them, voice tight with effort and concern. "The energy's getting stronger." Her hands ache with each pulse, burns flaring in protest at the strain. She glances over at Silra, grateful for the quick thinking but also aware that every moment they're trapped here is another moment closer to whatever is answering that wardstone's call. The floor groans beneath them, timbers shifting ominously as water and lubricant flood across the tile. "Hera," she tries again, voice softer this time, "get away from there. I've got the door braced." She doesn't mention that her grip is slipping, that the burns make it hard to hold onto anything for long. That's not something they need to know right now. The wardstone pulses accelerate, each one stronger than the last, and Halie feels a fresh wave of nausea rise up. Whatever's behind that door isn't just watching them anymore—it's getting closer.
