Round 80 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

At bathroom in a New York high rise penthouse suite, the pressure shifts from waiting to immediate risk. The ward answers the party's presence with a fresh pulse through the stone and no one can mistake it for safety. The nearest sign of danger is now structural collapse imminent. Someone has to answer that change now.
The wardstone pulses like a trapped thing trying to wake. The floor shifts under us—Jeane's barricade might hold for now but it won't stop the building from folding in on itself. I grab a handful of lubricant bottles, eyeing their slick surfaces and the way they stack precariously. "Slicker than snot on a doorknob," I mutter, "but better than nothing." The floor tilts again, more noticeable this time. Time's running out. Jeane's wings twitch—she wants to fly somewhere that doesn't exist in this collapsing hellhole. We're trapped like rats. I stack the bottles along the base of the door, creating a slippery barrier between us and whatever fresh disaster is coming. The lube makes them unstable as fuck but it'll at least slow things down if the wardstone decides to get frisky. Or if the ceiling chooses today to fall on our heads. "This isn't going to hold shit," I say, not really talking to anyone in particular. "But it's something." The wardstone pulses again—louder this time. Its rhythm is getting faster, like a heart racing toward cardiac arrest. Great. Just great.
Silra's 'barrier' is pathetic—bottles of fucking lube won't hold back structural collapse any more than prayer will stop a bullet. The wardstone pulses faster now, like some ancient heart beating us to death by seconds. Jeane braces against the tilting wall, her wings instinctively trying to flare before remembering there's nowhere to fly. "Stop it, Hera—pouring more lube just makes this worse." She snaps at the civilian's useless panic. "Abby, Halie—help me shift the heavier stuff toward the door. The wardstone's under that threshold—that's where the pressure's building."
Jeane's demon nature crawls beneath her skin, wanting to feed on fear and panic but she shoves it down hard. Can't lose control now—the wardstone's already answering their terror with escalating pulses. If Silra tries anything reckless... She eyes the elf's methodical stacking with grudging respect mixed with suspicion. Trust is a luxury we don't have time for. Her breasts feel heavy, lactating milk making her shirt cling uncomfortably—body betraying her even as she maintains the barrier spell against wardstone energy bleeding into them. The building groans overhead like a dying beast. We've got maybe minutes before this whole floor folds in on itself.
I hear it clearly now—the wardstone answering our presence like a predator waking. The building groans overhead, and Jeane's right—this barricade is temporary at best. We need to get out of here before the structure fails completely. Hera, Abby—I don't care if you're scared or uncomfortable. Get in that shower stall now. If the ceiling comes down, I want you protected from debris as much as possible. That's not negotiable.
