Silra's hands moved with mechanical precision, stacking the bottles across the door frame like some perverse dominos of impending doom. The wardstone pulsed again—two beats of death per structural shudder—and she felt every click like teeth snapping together. This barricade was fucking absurd—plastic bottles stacked along a door frame wouldn't stop concrete—but it might buy seconds they needed.

Jeane braced against the tilting wall, her wings instinctively trying to flare before remembering there was nowhere to fly. The wardstone pulses were accelerating now, like some ancient heart beating them to death by seconds. She grabbed Hera's wrist mid-pour. "Stop it. Pouring more lube just makes this worse—it's already slippery enough to break our fucking necks." Her crimson eyes fixed on the elf. "Silra, what the actual fuck is your plan here? Because stacking sex toys against a collapsing wall seems like peak stupidity even for you."

Halie pressed herself against the opposite wall, her wide brown eyes fixed on the treacherous floor where water mixed with spilled lubricant. The gush from the broken shower stall was relentless now, rising ankle-deep around them all. She watched Jeane's aggressive movements with fear warring against relief—at least someone was doing something—but the sorcerer's crimson eyes blazed with an unnatural light that made her skin crawl.

The building groaned overhead—a long, slow creak of metal and concrete giving way—and Halie felt her stomach drop. This was it. The structure was failing completely. "Everyone—into the shower stall now!" She grabbed Abby's arm, pulling her toward the only relatively safe space left. "Jeane, control yourself! We need to get out of here before this whole place comes down!"

Silra slammed another bottle into place, her teal eyes darting between the precarious stack and Jeane's blazing crimson gaze. The wardstone pulsed again—faster now—and she felt it like a physical blow, her teeth clicking together involuntarily. "My plan is to contain that thing," she snarled back at Jeane, "and this is the best I can do with what we have! You want better? Find some fucking rebar and weld it in place!"

The floor tilted again, more dramatically this time, and Halie stumbled against the wall. Her hand landed in a puddle of lubricant and she nearly went down, catching herself just in time. The slick surface stretched across half the bathroom now—water from the broken shower mixing with whatever the hell Silra had been doing before this disaster struck. Great. Slippery floor and imminent death. Perfect combination.

Jeane's wings flexed instinctively, membranes stretching wide before she forced them back against her spine with a frustrated growl. "Contain it? You think bottles of fucking lube are going to contain anything?" She grabbed another bottle from the counter—this one shaped like a veiny dick—and slammed it into the stack herself. The structure wobbled but held. Barely. "Fine. Contain it with my own goddamn hands if I have to." Her crimson eyes gleamed with an unholy light as she reached for the wardstone again.

"No!" Halie lunged forward, grabbing Jeane's wrist mid-reach. The cleric's blue-grey eyes blazed with desperate fear. "You touch that thing and we're all fucked! Do you understand? The entire building is coming down around us—focus on survival first!" She yanked the sorcerer back, nearly losing her balance in the process as her feet slid on the slick floor.

Silra finished the bottle stack with a final slam, stepping back to eye her handiwork. It was precarious as hell but it might buy them thirty seconds—maybe sixty if they were lucky and the collapse was slow. The wardstone pulsed again, its energy seeping through the door frame like malevolent intent. She could feel it in her teeth, her bones, her fucking molars vibrating with each beat.

The building groaned overhead—a long, slow creak that sounded like a dying beast—and Halie felt her stomach drop. This was it. The structure was failing completely. "Everyone—into the shower stall now!" She grabbed Abby's arm, pulling her toward the only relatively safe space left. "Jeane, control yourself! We need to get out of here before this whole place comes down!"

Jeane yanked her wrist free from Halie's grip, stumbling backward as the cleric's slip caused them both to nearly fall. The slick floor was a nightmare—water and lubricant mixing into a treacherous surface that offered no purchase. She glared at Halie, her wings half-spread in defensive instinct. "Control myself? You want control? Then help me fucking contain this thing before it kills us all!" Her crimson eyes blazed with unholy light as she reached for the wardstone again.

Silra moved fast—intercepting Jeane's reach with her own hand, grabbing the sorcerer's wrist and twisting hard. "The fuck did I just say about touching that thing?" She hissed in Jeane's face, her teal eyes blazing with desperate anger. "You want to play hero? Fine. But you're doing it smart—no stupid-ass suicide grabs at cursed stone." The wardstone pulsed again—faster now—and both women felt it like a physical blow, their teeth clicking together involuntarily.

The floor shifted beneath them—tilting dramatically as the building's structure finally began its terminal failure. Halie screamed as she lost her balance completely, arms windmilling before she crashed backward into the sink and tub combo. The impact knocked the breath from her lungs but at least she'd avoided the slick floor—barely.

Jeane stumbled backward, her wings half-spread for balance as the floor tilted. She caught herself against the wall opposite Silra and Halie, eyes wide with genuine fear now. The building was coming down. Really coming down. This wasn't theoretical anymore—this was immediate and certain death if they didn't move.

Silra grabbed a handful of Halie's shirt, yanking her away from the sink area as the cleric tried to push herself up. "Move your ass!" she snarled, hauling Halie toward the shower stall by brute force. The floor shifted again—more violently this time—and several bottles from her precarious stack came crashing down.

Halie stumbled forward into Silra's grip, momentum carrying them both toward the shower stall. She grabbed Abby and pulled her in after them, the three women cramming into the tiny space as dust and debris began raining down around them.

Jeane slammed herself against the wall opposite the door—wanting distance from the wardstone even as the entire structure tried to collapse inward. She covered her head with her arms as plaster rained down, her wings instinctively trying to wrap around her before remembering there was no space for that shit. The wardstone pulsed once more—loud and clear above the sound of collapsing concrete—and then went silent as dust and debris sealed off the bathroom completely.

The world went dark and quiet except for the sound of heavy breathing and shifting rubble. No one spoke for several long moments, too busy processing the fact that they were alive—or at least still breathing—in a space barely larger than a closet, buried under who knew how much concrete and steel.
