Round 57 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

At Penthouse suite in a New York high rise, the pressure shifts from waiting to immediate risk. The ward answers the party's presence with a fresh pulse through the stone and no one can mistake it for safety. The nearest sign of danger is now structural instability from wardstone interaction. Someone has to answer that change now.
Halie takes a steadying breath as she watches Silra approach the wardstone, her words cutting through the tension in the room. "Wait," Halie says, her voice firm but not harsh. "We can't just... we can't keep doing this blindly." She looks around at everyone, her gaze lingering on Hera's frightened face and Jeane's determined one. "The building is already groaning under us. We're playing with fire here."
She steps forward, her robes rustling softly. "Silra, I understand what you're saying about chaos, but we need a plan. A smart one." Her eyes flick to the wardstone, its pulses now visibly straining against the structure. "If this thing overloads completely, we won't just have to run—we might not be able to."
Jeane's order to Hera makes Halie tense, but she doesn't interrupt yet. Instead, she focuses on Silra and tries to find common ground. "You want a surge? Fine. But we do this with control." She glances at the bondage gear scattered around. "We use what we have, yes, but carefully. Test the limits of what it can handle before pushing further."
She looks directly at Jeane then, her expression serious despite the undercurrent of warmth in her eyes for the elf. "And you," she says gently to Hera, "you don't have to do anything you're not comfortable with."
Jeane watched Silra step closer to the wardstone, her expression caught between admiration for the elf's nerve and frustration at her methods. "I don't care how you do it," Jeane said coldly, "just make sure whatever chaos you're planning doesn't bring this entire building down around our ears. We need that surge—controlled—and we need it now."
Her gaze flicked to Hera, who looked ready to bolt. The cleric's fear was understandable—the wardstone pulsed with dangerous energy, the very air seeming to thicken with anticipation. "Hera," Jeane said, her tone gentler than before, "you don't have to do anything you're not comfortable with." She moved closer to the frightened woman, her wings rustling softly. "But right now, we need everyone's focus. Silra has a plan—reckless as it might be—and I trust her skill even if I don't trust her restraint."
She turned back to Silra, eyes narrowing. "Sixty seconds. Make it happen."
I take a shaky breath, trying to steady my nerves as I look at Jeane. "I... I don't understand what you want from me," I say, my voice trembling slightly. "How can I help with this wardstone thing if I don't even know what chaos means in this context?"
My eyes dart around the room, taking in the tense faces of the other women. Silra seems focused and determined as she approaches the wardstone, while Halie looks worried and uncertain. Abby is frozen in fear, her gaze fixed on Jeane with a tangle of concern and apprehension. "I'm scared," I admit, my voice barely a whisper. "I don't want to be responsible for anything happening to this building or anyone inside it."
