The wardstone's pulse rumbles through the penthouse suite like a beast's heartbeat, each thud vibrating up from the floorboards. Hera clutches at Jeane's arm, her knuckles white as she fights against rising panic. The building groans around them, a sound like ancient timber complaining under strain no longer tolerable. "Jeane," Hera chokes out, her voice barely above a whisper, "what is happening? Why is everything shaking?"

Jeane's expression hardens, her crimson eyes flashing with impatience and something darker—arousal, perhaps, from Silra's earlier dominance display. She places one hand over Hera's, trying to still the trembling fingers. "The wardstone answers our presence," she explains through gritted teeth. "It wants... it needs..." Her words trail off as another pulse hits, stronger this time, making the chandelier overhead rattle faintly.

Halie steps forward then, positioning herself between Jeane and Hera. The cleric's blue-grey eyes are wide with concern, her gentle face etched with stern resolve. "We need another solution," she says firmly, though uncertainty colors her voice. "Something that doesn't involve—" She glances at the wardstone, its surface pulsing with ominous red light, then back to Jeane. Her chastity is a line she cannot cross, but the building's groaning is becoming more insistent.

Across the room, Silra moves with predatory grace toward the artifact, her amber eyes gleaming with mischief and something more calculating. She circles the wardstone once, twice, before speaking in a voice that carries easily over the building's creaking. "Chaos is the key," she purrs, running one hand along its smooth surface. The stone pulses again in response, a shudder passing through it like a shiver of pleasure.

Jeane's fingers tighten around Hera's arm, her frustration evident. "We don't have time for your games, Silra," she snaps. "The building is about to come down around us—" Another groan from the structure interrupts her, louder this time, and a fine crack appears in the ceiling near the wardstone.

Halie gasps, reaching out instinctively to steady Hera. "We need to get out of here," she urges, her voice shaking slightly. "The structural integrity is failing." But even as she speaks, the wardstone pulses again—faster now—and the very air in the room seems to thicken with raw energy.

Jeane's expression shifts, a flash of understanding passing through her crimson eyes. She turns back to Hera, her voice low and intense. "If we're going down, we might as well go out with a bang," she growls, one hand sliding down to grip Hera's hip possessively. The wardstone pulses in response, its light intensifying.

Hera's breath catches, her amber eyes widening in shock at Jeane's sudden forwardness. She opens her mouth to protest, but no words come out—because the building groans again, louder this time, and a section of wall near the window warps visibly inward.
