Round 24

Phase: escalating

The wardstone's pulse quickens, each beat a desperate demand for more energy. The building responds in kind—groans of strain echoing through the structure as timbers creak under impossible stress. Jeane circles the stone again, her fingers tracing its surface as she tries to read the rhythm of its need. "This isn't just a power supply anymore," she says, glancing at Silra across the room. The idea of their combined lust literally keeping the building upright is both terrifying and thrilling—each pulse seeming to demand more, louder, faster.
Hera inched closer to Silra, her heart pounding as the structure shuddered around them. "What exactly are we dealing with here?" she whispered. The wardstone pulsed again, its surface smooth and inviting even as it demanded more from them all. Jeane's eyes met Silra's across the room, a silent conversation passing between them. They both knew what they needed to do—what the wardstone required—but the stakes had just gotten much higher.
The building groaned louder, a sound like ancient wood complaining under too much weight. Halie stepped forward, her voice low and urgent. "Wait," she said, her blue-grey eyes fixed on the pulsing stone. "We need to think about this carefully. The wardstone is responding too strongly to our... activities." She glanced at the ceiling above them, where a fresh crack had appeared in the plaster.
Silra held up her seismic sensor, its needle twitching wildly. "It's spiking again," she said, her voice tight with concern. "Every time we move or speak too loudly. The wardstone is answering us—it's like it's aware of us now." She looked at Hera still hovering nearby. "Hera, please step back for now. We don't know what this thing might do if we push too far too fast."
Jeane felt a thrill of fear mixed with arousal at Silra's words. The elf was right—they had to be careful, but the wardstone's demands were growing stronger by the second. She could feel it pulsing in time with her own heartbeat, each beat a command for more energy, more lust, more... something.
