At Penthouse suite in a New York high rise, the pressure shifts from waiting to immediate risk. The ward answers the party's presence with a fresh pulse through the stone and no one can mistake it for safety. The nearest sign of danger is now structural instability from wardstone interaction. Someone has to answer that change now.

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

The building's groan shifts timbre—lower now, more insistent. I move closer to Silra, keeping my voice low enough for just us. "Seismic sensor for lust? How wonderfully precise." My eyes flick to Hera, who watches the wardstone with an expression that mixes apprehension and confusion. "What exactly are you proposing, Silra?" I ask, though part of me already knows.

Silra

Silra · Rogue

I circle the wardstone slowly. It's a heavy thing, carved stone responding to us like it's breathing—no, worse, like it's hungry. Each pulse makes the building groan louder, timbers creaking under pressure we can't see. Hera's staring at it like it might start breathing fire if she looks away. I don't blame her. Jeane drifts over, close enough for me to feel the heat off her skin. "Seismic sensor for lust," she murmurs. "How wonderfully precise." Her eyes drift to Hera. "What exactly are you proposing, Silra?" There's a glint there—a sorceress's curiosity about limits, maybe even excitement at the stakes. I lean against the wall opposite the wardstone. The structure shifts under my weight, settling like a tired old man. "Don't plan on humping rock just to keep this place from caving in," I say flatly. The stone's pulse speeds up again, answering me—challenge accepted, apparently. Hera makes a small sound of alarm. The ward answers our presence with fresh pressure through the stone. It doesn't have patience for slow decisions. Time feels like it's running out before we even start.

Hera

Hera · Civilian

Hera: I approach Silra cautiously, trying to make sense of what's happening. What exactly is going on here? That wardstone... it feels like there's an energy in the air that's almost electric. And this building, the way it's groaning and shifting... I've never experienced anything like this before. My heart races as I try to process the situation. The thought of the building collapsing terrifies me, but at the same time, there's an undeniable excitement in the air. I can see the looks that Silra and Jeane are exchanging, and it makes me wonder what they have planned.

Listen, I know you're trying to figure something out here. But we need to be careful. If this structure isn't stable... I trail off, not wanting to complete the thought. Whatever you're thinking of doing, just make sure it doesn't put us all at risk. I glance over at the wardstone, marveling at its intricate patterns. It's almost hypnotic in a way. But I shake my head, trying to focus on the present.

So, what are we going to do?
