Phase: converging

The wardstone's pulse quickens, its rhythm no longer steady but erratic—like a heart racing toward failure. The building responds in kind, groaning around them with each beat, the sound growing louder, more insistent. Halie pulls her hand back from the stone's surface, wiping her palm on her skirt as if trying to rid herself of its heat.
"What is this thing doing?" Hera asks, her voice tight with fear. She stands near the door, ready to bolt but held in place by morbid curiosity and a sense of responsibility for bringing them here.
"It’s not the stone itself," Silra explains, her teal eyes fixed on the wardstone's surface. "It’s reacting to... us. To our presence. To what we’re doing." She glances at Jeane, then back to Hera. "The magic in this place is old and unstable. It’s not designed for... modern applications."
Jeane moves closer to Silra, her wings rustling softly. "So we need to find a way to ground it out? To redirect the energy?" Her crimson eyes gleam with excitement even as she tries to suppress it—this kind of magical danger is exactly what she lives for.
"Ground it out," Halie repeats, her blue-grey eyes wide. "How? We can’t just stop... whatever it is we’re doing. The stone responds to friction, to energy. If we stop now, the backlash could be even worse."
The wardstone pulses again, a deep thrum that seems to vibrate through the floorboards. Dust falls from the ceiling cracks, and a loud crack sounds from somewhere deeper in the apartment.
"See?" Halie gestures urgently at the falling dust. "We need to keep going, but we need to be... smarter about it. Controlled."
Silra nods slowly, her expression grave. "I have an idea. But it’s not going to be comfortable." She looks around the group, her gaze lingering on Hera. "Everyone needs to participate. All of us, at once. If we can spread out the energy evenly, maybe we can manage it."
Jeane’s eyes light up with renewed interest, a wicked smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "Oh? Do tell, Silra. I’m always up for a... group project."
Hera swallows hard, her amber eyes wide with fear and something else—curiosity?. She looks from Silra to Jeane and back, her hands clasped tightly in front of her. "Participate how, exactly?"
Silra begins pulling items from her pack—a small device that looks like a cross between a vibrator and a scientific instrument, along with several thin wires and what appears to be a small metal panel. "We’re going to create a circuit," she explains, laying out the components on the floor. "Everyone will need to touch the wardstone at the same time, and... maintain contact in other ways."
Jeane moves closer, her wings half-spread with excitement. "Maintain contact? You mean—"
"Yes," Silra cuts her off, her tone serious despite the flush creeping up her neck. "We need to generate friction evenly across all of us. That means..." She trails off, looking at each woman in turn.
Halie steps forward, her expression a mix of determination and resignation. "If it’ll save our lives—and this building—then yes. Tell me what to do."
Hera hesitates longer, her eyes darting between the wardstone and Silra’s face. Finally, she nods once, sharply. "Fine. But if this thing collapses around us, I’m holding you responsible."
Silra manages a small smile, though her expression remains tense. "Fair enough. Everyone, strip down to your underwear. We need skin-to-skin contact for the circuit to work properly."
As the women begin to undress, the wardstone pulses again—louder this time, the rhythm even more erratic. The building groans in response, and a fine layer of dust coats everything in the room.
Jeane, now clad only in her black lace lingerie, moves to stand beside Silra. Her wings flex restlessly as she watches the elf arrange the components on the floor. "So," she purrs, "what exactly are we doing here?"
Silra glances up at her, a flush spreading across her pale cheeks. "We’re going to create a closed circuit using our bodies and the wardstone as the energy source." She holds up the vibrator-like device. "This will help distribute the energy evenly between us."
Halie, in her simple white underwear, looks on with growing concern. "And if it doesn’t work?"
"Then we’ll need to find another solution quickly," Silra replies, her voice tight. "But for now, this is our best option."
Hera stands apart, her arms crossed over her chest in her practical cotton bra and panties. She looks uncomfortable and out of place among the more scantily clad women. "How do we... maintain contact?"
Silra begins connecting the wires to various points on the wardstone and the metal panel. "We’ll need to form a circle, holding hands and maintaining physical contact wherever possible." She pauses, then adds, "And we’ll need to stimulate each other periodically to keep the energy flowing."
Jeane’s eyes widen with delight despite her best efforts to appear serious. "Stimulate? You mean—"
"Yes," Silra cuts her off again, her face flushed but her tone firm. "We need to maintain a consistent level of... arousal. The wardstone responds to pleasure and friction. If we can create a sustained state of both, maybe we can stabilize the energy."
Halie looks scandalized for a moment, then sighs in resignation. "Fine. But let’s get this over with before the whole building comes down around us."
As the women form a circle around the wardstone, holding hands and standing close together, Silra activates the device. It begins to hum softly, and Halie gasps as she feels a tingling sensation run through her body.
"Is it working?" Hera asks, her voice trembling slightly as she feels the energy flowing between them.
Silra nods, her eyes fixed on the wardstone. "The circuit is closed. Now we need to maintain the energy level."
Jeane grins wickedly and leans in to kiss Silra deeply, her hands roaming over the elf’s body. The wardstone pulses in response, its rhythm steadying slightly.
Halie watches them for a moment, then turns to Hera beside her. "We need to... participate," she says softly, reaching out to cup Hera’s breast through her bra.
Hera gasps at the touch, her eyes wide with surprise and arousal. She looks around the circle—Jeane and Silra still locked in an intense embrace, Halie now caressing her—and feels a thrill of forbidden excitement run through her.
The wardstone pulses again, stronger this time, and the building’s groaning lessens slightly. Encouraged, the women begin to move more boldly, hands exploring bodies, lips finding new places to kiss and nibble.
Jeane breaks away from Silra long enough to kneel before Halie, her hands sliding up the cleric’s thighs as she begins to kiss and lick at her inner thighs. Halie moans softly, her head falling back as she feels a rush of pleasure.
Hera watches them for a moment, then turns to Silra with newfound determination. She presses her body against the elf’s, kissing her deeply while her hands roam over Silra’s breasts and ass.
The wardstone pulses in rhythm with their movements now, its energy flowing through the circuit of bodies and back into itself. The building’s groaning lessens further, becoming a low, steady rumble rather than an ominous creak.
As the women continue their intimate dance, the air in the room seems to shift—charged with magic and arousal. The wardstone pulses steadily, its power contained and controlled by the human circuit it has created.
For now, at least, they have found a way to manage the dangerous energy. But as Jeane looks around at her companions, their faces flushed with pleasure and exertion, she wonders how long they can maintain this delicate balance—and what other challenges the wardstone might present in the future.
