The chamber groaned around them, stone grinding against stone as the ancient magic holding it together frayed further. Water lapped at the crumbling edges of the platform, each wave a reminder of the watery abyss below. Jeane pressed her back against the wall, wings half-spread for balance as she watched Abby's eyes shift to gold. The sight sent a fresh wave of dread through her—possession was the last thing they needed right now.

"You can't be serious," Jeane hissed, voice tight with barely contained panic. "We don't know where that leads or what's waiting on the other side." The skeletal dust figures circled closer, their bone-fingered hands reaching out as if to grasp at the air around them. The sorceress' crimson eyes flicked between the advancing horrors and the ominous figure hovering in the watery depths above. She could feel the magic in this place—old, powerful, and utterly alien.

"Abby, no," she said sharply, her gaze fixed on the golden eyes. "We don't know where that leads or what's waiting on the other side." The skeletal dust figures clicked their bone-fingers together in a horrifying chorus of hunger and impatience.

"We need to find another way out," Jeane insisted, her gaze fixed on Abby's golden eyes. "Or at least figure out what's going..."
