As Hera finishes speaking, Jeane's eyes narrow, her gaze darting between Hera and Silra. Her expression remains stern, but a flicker of curiosity dances in her eyes. She takes a deep breath, her voice steady as she responds, "I need to see this for myself." With that, she rises from the bed, her wings unfolding as she strides towards the door. "Silra, I'll be right back," she says, her words laced with a hint of determination. As she reaches the doorway, she pauses, her eyes locking onto Hera's. "You're not going anywhere until we've had this conversation." Hera's face flushes, but she nods, her jaw setting in a firm line. The tension between them is palpable, the air thick with unspoken words and unresolved emotions.

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

I stride towards Hera, my wings flaring aggressively before settling back into place as I approach her at the door. The way she stands there—all stiff posture and anxious fidgeting—I can tell this whole situation has thrown her just as much off balance as it has Silra and me. But right now? That doesn't matter nearly as much as getting to the bottom of what the hell is going on between us all. "You want to talk about energy signatures?" I say, my voice low and dangerous despite maintaining a professional tone befitting someone in my position as party leader and sorceress extraordinaire. "Fine. Let's talk about magic—because that's clearly what we're dealing with here if Silra is feeling something strange inside her after your... encounter." I glance back at where she sits on the bed, still pressing that hand against her stomach like it might help ground her through whatever this weird sensation is. When my eyes return to Hera, there's a clear challenge in them—an unspoken dare for her to try explaining herself out of this mess we've found ourselves in. "So here's what I want you to do," I continue, taking another step closer until I'm just outside arm's reach without actually invading her personal space... yet. "I want you to focus on whatever energy signature you're feeling right now—really hone in on it—and then I want to see if I can sense anything from where I am." My hand moves almost unconsciously to rest against my own stomach—the complete opposite of where Silra's is pressed—but the gesture isn't sexual or intimate. It's more like someone preparing themselves for a spellcasting ritual than engaging in any kind of foreplay. "This isn't about trust," I say firmly, cutting off whatever protest Hera might be formulating based on my earlier accusations of manipulation attempts. "This is about gathering data—about understanding exactly what we're dealing with here before it becomes something even more problematic than it already is." My eyes narrow slightly as I add, "Because let me make one thing perfectly clear: if there's magic at play here that has anything to do with Silra being harmed or manipulated against her will? Then not only will you be answering to me personally for whatever trickery you've pulled—but the entire party leadership will consider this a violation of trust severe enough to warrant... serious consequences." I don't elaborate on what those might be—letting the threat hang heavy in the air between us as I wait to see how Hera responds.

Hera

Hera · Civilian

Hera nods slowly, her eyes never leaving Jeane's face even as she takes a small step back, putting more space between them. "I understand," she says quietly, her voice steady despite the tension thrumming through her body. "And I agree—if there's magic at work here that could harm Silra or anyone else in the party, then we need to get to the bottom of it." She takes a deep breath, closing her eyes for just a moment as she focuses inward on the sensation that's been buzzing beneath her skin since her encounter with Silra. It feels like static electricity dancing along her nerves—a constant reminder of the intimate connection they'd shared even after Hera had withdrawn from her body. "I'm ready," she says finally, her eyes opening to meet Jeane's gaze head-on. "Just... be gentle. I don't know how this is going to affect me once you start probing for the energy signature."

As Jeane begins to focus her own magical senses—tuning into the arcane currents that flow through their connection even from across the room—Hera feels a sharp tingle run up her spine. It's not painful, exactly, but it's intense enough to make her gasp as she reaches out with one hand to steady herself against the doorframe. "It's... strong," she manages to say through gritted teeth, her fingers digging into the wood as if trying to anchor herself against a invisible current threatening to sweep her off balance. "Like nothing I've ever felt before." Her eyes slide closed again as she tries to center herself—focusing on the sensation even as it makes every nerve in her body feel like it's humming with energy. "Can you... sense anything?" She asks, her voice strained but still clear despite the way her entire being seems attuned to whatever magical connection exists between them now.
