The Cromwell Chronicles · The Spiral Run 004

In the depths of a lonely modern house, Jeane stands resolute against an unknown intruder, her demonic form illuminated by a single brass lamp. The air is heavy with tension as she checks each corner and shadow, her gaze lingering on the faint creaking sound that drew her attention. The knife drawer beckons, its contents a potential lifeline in this desperate standoff.

As Jeane cautiously descends the stairs, the deliberate creaking from below grows clearer, accompanied by the brief flash of a beam from downstairs. The Force moves through the front sitting room with purpose, her footsteps barely audible on the hardwood floor. The atmosphere is thick with anticipation, the scent of gunpowder mingling with the damp earth smell of the rain-soaked woods outside.
