Round 2

As Jeane gripped the lamp like a baseball bat, the rain-soaked house seemed to reverberate with an unsettling silence. Her eyes narrowed, fixed on the dark windows, as she listened intently for any sign of movement. The sound of a floorboard shifting weight in the kitchen was followed by a soft scrape, prompting her swift and silent approach towards the narrow hallway. "Leave now or things escalate," she whispered, her voice steady despite the growing tension.

The Force moved through the room with calculated precision, her eyes scanning the space for any signs of danger. Her gaze landed on the lamp, its heavy brass base a potential threat if swung correctly. She crouched low, sweeping her flashlight beam under the furniture, clearing the area behind the chair. The house felt empty, but that only heightened her vigilance. Empty houses hid secrets, and she was determined to uncover them.
