Round 22 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

At The base of a crumbling stone tower, the shared situation sharpens into an immediate decision point. What is already in motion no longer supports waiting or circling. The next concrete move will determine how this scene changes.
I circle the tower twice more at different altitudes. The magic feels wrong—it's not static protection, it's active predation. Something inside is feeding on these wards like they're blood vessels pumping energy outwards. I descend slowly, wings beating steadily. Everyone looks tired already and we haven't even entered yet. Jeane to Halie: Finish casting your ward detection and mark everything suspicious around the base—every stone that feels off or every patch of ground that hums with wrongness. To Merrin and Varrika: Map the ground floor thoroughly, especially that slab you marked. I don't like how it pulsed when we approached. Find any hidden entrances or pressure plates. I'll fly higher and get an aerial map of those upper floors—if there's a weak entry point, I want to know where before we commit to climbing inside this thing. The stone is literally sick, did you notice? It weeps magic into the air like sweat from pores. We have maybe fifty minutes before whatever's inside notices us snooping around its dinner table. Let's use them efficiently—Halie, Merrin, Varrika, I need your expertise sharp and focused. Seraphine, keep running that quiet detection spell and tell me if you sense anything new.
The oppressive aura emanating from the tower makes my skin crawl. I crouch down and examine the ground, marking suspicious slabs of stone. This place is wrong. The air feels thick, charged with an ancient malevolence. A low, ominous humming emanates from deep within the structure - it almost sounds... hungry. I call out to the party, "Alright everyone, we need a thorough map of this ground floor. Jeane, can you fly higher and get us a bird's eye view of those upper levels? Varrika, let's map this ground floor thoroughly. We're looking for any hidden entrances or pressure plates that might be feeding energy to the wards."
I straighten up and stretch, feeling the ache in my muscles from days of travel. "And Halie, keep casting those ward detection spells. We can't afford to trip anything by accident." I glance over at Seraphine, "How are we doing on that core energy source? If we can find it, maybe we can work out what's really feeding these wards."
My eyes dart back to the tower, unease twisting in my gut. Whatever's inside this accursed place, it's not going to give up the Time-Splitting Sword without a fight. But we've come this far. There's no turning back now.
The stonework of the tower seems to pulse with a sickly energy. The wards feel wrong, feeding on something within. We're already in their territory—every second counts before whatever's inside notices us snooping. Merrin, Halie, let's map this ground floor thoroughly. Mark any suspicious slabs or pressured stones. Jeane, fly higher and get us a bird's eye view of those upper levels. We need to plan our entry carefully to avoid triggering the wards.
