At The base of a crumbling stone tower, the shared situation sharpens into an immediate decision point. What is already in motion no longer supports waiting or circling. The next concrete move will determine how this scene changes.

Halie

Halie · Cleric

I've had enough of standing here feeling the tower's hunger. Seraphine—start casting that wider detection spell now, but do it quietly. Jeane, fly higher, get above the wards entirely and give us a proper map of the upper levels. I want to know what we're dealing with before we stumble into anything. Merrin, Varrika—I need both of you to map every stone on the ground floor. If something feels wrong or looks out of place, mark it immediately. We're not going in blind, and we're definitely not rushing this. I try to keep my voice calm but firm. This is a job for patience, not bravery. The wards are active predators—we're already in their territory, and we've only got an hour before whatever's inside notices us snooping around.

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

The wards feel wrong. Not passive defenses—predators on alert. Jeane circles the tower twice more. Higher this time, staying just out of visible range from any stonework that feels charged. The upper levels are darker than they should be for midday sun. Something's absorbing light up there. Merrin has the ground mapped well enough—every suspicious stone marked, every gap in foundation noted. Varrika is methodical about it, but even her calm has edges tonight. We don't have time for a leisurely investigation. Whatever feeds these wards—I can feel it now, something buried deep or chained to this tower by dark sorcery—that's what makes them hunt instead of just stand guard. Jeane descends slowly, wings folded tight. Seraphine is already pulling out her spellbook—good, let her cast that wider detection and see if she can tell us what else is lurking before we stumble into it. But we need a full layout now. Halie's right—the wards are active predators, and we're already in their territory. I'll fly higher one more time. Get above those visible wards entirely and give Merrin the proper map of the upper levels she needs. If anything moves or changes shape up there, I'll signal.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I approach the tower's entrance cautiously, senses on high alert. The air feels thick, charged with an ancient malevolence. A low, ominous humming comes from deep within the structure - it almost sounds... hungry. "Jeane, I need you to fly higher and get a bird's eye view of those upper levels," I call out, keeping my voice hushed. "Keep an eye out for any visible wards or suspicious areas. We can't afford to trigger whatever's feeding these things."

I start mapping the ground floor, studying every stone carefully. The wards feel predatory, like they're watching us with invisible eyes. One wrong move and we'll be on their menu. "Varrika," I whisper to the dwarf, "let's map this level together. Mark any stones that look out of place - they could be hiding doors or triggers."

My hands shake slightly as I mark a particularly suspicious slab. This tower is more than just old ruins - it's alive, and it's starving for intruders. We need to play this smart if we want to get that sword and get out in one piece. But time's ticking. Whatever's inside, whatever's feeding these wards... it knows we're here now. And it's not going to wait forever.
