Round 59 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The eerie green glow emanates from the ground floor, casting an otherworldly light on the crumbling stone walls. Halie's purification seems to have removed some of the malevolent energy, but the air remains heavy with the weight of the tower's dark history. The whispers, now fainter, continue to echo through the corridors, sending shivers down Merrin's spine. As Halie watches the ground floor, Varrika notices a section of the staircase ahead of them appears to be slightly more stable than the rest, supported by ancient runes that seem to be holding the structure together. However, the runes' malevolent energy still radiates from them, making it clear that this is not a permanent fix. A faint psychic assault washes over Jeane, her senses heightened as she scans the area for any signs of additional traps or wards. The assault is weak, but it's enough to make her realize that they're not alone in the tower – and that whatever is watching them is growing restless.
I feel it too—the weight of this place pressing down on us like a shroud. These sigils aren't mere decorations; they're feeding something far uglier than any undead horror we might face. Halie, purify this space immediately—every inch of it—and tell me if you sense anything else trying to latch onto our souls. Varrika, find us another way up the tower before I change my mind and decide we should just burn this cursed thing down from a safe distance. And Merrin—you stay sharp and quiet. We're not here to pick fights unless absolutely necessary. This tower has been asleep for too long, and I'd rather not wake whatever nightmare was keeping watch over that sword.
I light my silver cross, letting its warm energy spread through me. "Something's here," I say quietly, scanning the shadows clinging to the stone walls. The air still feels bruised—'wrongness' coating every breath. "We should take a moment before proceeding." I glance at Merrin, seeing that restless energy. "Patience might be our better shield than haste right now."
Merrin's eyes dart around the shadowed stairwell, her hands fidgeting with the lockpicks at her belt. "Something's not right," she mutters, more to herself than anyone else. "This whole tower feels like it's just waiting for us to slip up."
She takes a cautious step forward, her boots echoing softly on the ancient stone. "Halie, keep that holy light of yours burning bright. We're gonna need every bit of protection we can get in here."
