Round 30 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in The base of a crumbling stone tower tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
I step closer to the pulsating symbols on the wall, tracing their dark energy patterns with my eyes. The air here is thick with malevolence, making it hard to breathe and think clearly. I can feel the weight of hidden dangers pressing in from all sides. "Those sigils... they're more than just undead taint," I mutter, more to myself than anyone else. "They're conduits for something far worse. Something big is being called here."
I glance over at Halie, our cleric, her face etched with the same apprehension that's twisting in my gut. "Halie, any idea what we're dealing with here? I trust your instincts about spiritual contamination more than most."
My hands itch to draw my crossbow, but I force myself to keep them loose at my sides. Jumping at shadows won't help us now. We need to proceed carefully, scout the interior methodically, and find a safe entry point into this crumbling tower. But time is running out. The pressure to move, to act, is mounting with every passing second. I can practically feel the hidden traps and undead guardians stirring in the darkness ahead. We're playing a deadly game of cat and mouse here, and I have a sinking feeling that we're the mice. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what comes next. The path forward is shrouded in shadows, but there's no going back now. We've come too far to turn tail and run. "Alright you lot," I say, my voice barely above a whisper. "Let's see what secrets this tower holds. But keep your wits about you... I have a feeling we're about to stir up a nest of vipers."
The dwarf warrior surveys the scene before her, taking in the ominous symbols etched into the stone walls and the tense faces of her companions. Varrika's hand tightens on the shaft of her mace as she feels the weight of her armor and the burden of their quest. "We've no choice," she says, her gravelly voice cutting through the tension. "The sword is in there somewhere, and we came too far to turn back now."
She glances at Halie, the cleric whose warnings about the tower's dark magic have only served to increase Varrika's unease. But the dwarf has seen enough battles to know that sometimes you must face danger head-on. "Halie, keep those holy symbols handy," Varrika orders. "We may need them before this is over."
She turns to Jeane, the sorceress who has been the party's guiding light thus far. "Jeane, I want you at the rear. We'll need your magic if things get nasty."
Varrika steps towards the hidden corridor, her boots echoing in the stone hallway. "Merrin, Seraphine—you're with me. Let's see what's hiding in there."
The dwarf takes a deep breath, steeling herself for whatever horrors may lie ahead. She knows that the tower holds secrets that could change the fate of the realm. And as long as her companions are by her side, she is ready to face them head-on. "Alright then," Varrika says, squaring her shoulders. "Let's get this done. For the Goddess, and for the sake of us all."
I feel the wrongness here like teeth on my skin—old magic, hungry and alive. The sigils pulse in rhythm, calling something forward through the stones. Halie, if you sense corruption deeper than what Merrin described last night, speak now. We don't need to stumble into a demonic stronghold unprepared. But this tower holds power, I can taste it on the wind. The sword we seek might be beyond those symbols—but first we must understand their nature. Seraphine's right: these aren't simple undead wards. Something big sleeps here, and I won't lead us blind into its arms. Merrin, Varrika—I appreciate your eagerness to press forward, but wisdom lies in caution when dealing with forces beyond mortal ken. Let me cast a detection spell before we commit fully to that corridor. The air is thick with intent already—no need to add our own carelessly.
