Round 25 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in The base of a crumbling stone tower tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
Jeane Cromwell studies the breathing symbols pulsing on the stone wall of the corridor, her crimson eyes narrowing as she senses the dark energy emanating from them. She knows this magic—it's not natural at all; it's demonic in nature, and if left unchecked, it could spell doom for their entire party. "Halie," Jeane calls out to the cleric, "I need you here. Can you sense what kind of corruption this is? We may be dealing with something far more dangerous than simple traps."
She turns her attention back to Varrika, who's standing at the entrance of the corridor with her mace ready. "Varrika, hold your position until we have a better understanding of what lies ahead. The last thing we need is for someone to trigger some sort of magical trap or summon whatever creature resides in this place."
Jeane takes a step closer to the shadowed hallway, her own dark magic responding to the demonic aura within it. She knows she must tread carefully—the wrong move could mean their demise.
I take a hesitant step towards the shadowed corridor, my gaze fixed on the pulsating breathing symbols etched into the ancient stone. The air feels thick and oppressive, each breath an effort as if the very atmosphere is being consumed by some unseen presence. "These aren't just magical sigils," I murmur, my voice so low it's almost inaudible over the heavy silence. "They're inhaling something unknown, drawing it into the heart of the tower. This isn't natural magic, not by any stretch. It’s something far darker and more purposeful."
I turn to face Varrika, her battle-hardened presence a small comfort amidst the creeping dread that chills my bones. My eyes dart between her and the pulsing walls, a frantic calculation running through my mind. "Whatever lies ahead in this corridor, we cannot ignore it," I say, my tone firming with a scholar's resolve. "We must map its entirety before proceeding deeper into the tower. But first... Halie, can you sense what kind of corruption this is? What it might be feeding off?"
I need a moment before we commit to the corridor, Seraphine. The air here—it feels wrong in my gut, like reality itself is bruised and bleeding dark energy. This isn't some forgotten magic; this is deliberate corruption, and whatever's feeding on it... I don't think we want to meet its source.
