Round 24 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in The base of a crumbling stone tower tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
Jeane studies the pulsing symbols on the walls with narrowed eyes—as Merrin correctly notes, this is no natural enchantment, but dark and purposeful magic designed for... what? Consuming life force? Summoning demons? The air itself seems to thicken, making it harder to breathe. She glances at Halie's tense expression—the Cleric senses something she doesn't like, which means I don't like it either. "Hold there," Jeane commands Varrika, who'd been about to step deeper into the corridor. The fighter pauses, mace ready but uncertain. "Halie—what do you make of this?"
I peer into the shadowed corridor, crossbow at the ready, scanning the pulsing symbols for any hint of a trap or ward. The air feels thick with an otherworldly energy, making my skin crawl. "Those symbols aren't natural," I mutter under my breath. "Demonic magic, dark and hungry... I've never seen anything like it." I take a tentative step forward, keeping my eyes peeled for any signs of movement or danger. Whatever's down there, it's watching us, I can feel it in my bones.
I step closer to the shadowed corridor, my keen elven eyes fixed on the strange breathing symbols pulsating along its walls. A wave of cold washes over me, born not of the air but of an ancient, malevolent presence within those runes.
"The symbols... they're inhaling something unknown," I murmur, my voice barely a breath. The air here is thick with a suffocating energy, making it hard to breathe, let alone think clearly. I can feel a dark intelligence pressing against my mind, probing, searching.
My hand instinctively goes to the heavy mace at my belt, but even its solid weight offers little comfort against this unseen foe. This isn't natural magic; it's something far darker and more purposeful. A shiver runs down my spine as I recall tales of demonic pacts and cursed towers from my studies in forbidden histories.
I turn to Varrika, her mace gripped tight in her hands, ready to face whatever lies ahead. She looks back at me, a shared apprehension passing between us. This path forward promises only more danger, but the Time-Splitting Sword is our goal, and we cannot retreat now.
Varikka's presence gives me courage, though I know we must tread carefully. Every step deeper into this place feels like stepping further into a trap, and yet, we have no choice but to proceed. With a deep breath, I steel myself, readying my own magic in case of an immediate threat. Whatever we face next, we will face it together.
