The tension in The base of a crumbling stone tower tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

The dwarf woman tenses, her hand tightening on the hilt of her mace. She peers into the shadows of the corridor, her eyes narrowed against the darkness. "This ain't right," she mutters, more to herself than to the others. "There's somethin' unnatural about this place."

Varrika takes a step forward, her heavy boots scraping against the stone floor. The air feels thick and oppressive, like it's pressing down on her from all sides. She can feel the magic pulsing in the walls, dark and twisted. "Jeane," she says, her voice rough with tension. "Can ye make sense of those symbols? We need to know what we're dealin' with here."

The dwarf woman takes another step forward, her mace at the ready. She can feel the eyes of the skeletons on her back, watching her every move. But there's something else in the darkness, something old and powerful and evil. "Halie," she says, turning to the cleric. "Keep yer holy symbols close. We might need 'em."

Varrika takes a deep breath, steeling herself for what's to come. Whatever lies ahead, she knows it won't be easy. But she's a veteran warrior, and she's faced worse than this before. "Alright, listen up," she says, her voice low and commanding. "We stick together, we watch each other's backs, and we don't take any unnecessary risks. The sword is the priority, but our lives are more important. Understood?"

She looks around at the others, her eyes hard and determined. "Then let's get this done."

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

I can feel the wrongness of this magic clinging like rot. That's not dark sorcery—it's demonic. We should find another route if that corridor contains active dark magic. Merrin, keep your crossbow ready but stay back. Varrika, I understand the urge to investigate, but we need to think clearly here. Halie, what does your divine sense tell you about this corruption?

Halie

Halie · Cleric

I'm not comfortable walking into demon-touched corridors without a proper plan or blessing. Merrin, I appreciate your initiative, but we should let Halie figure out what kind of blasphemous magic this is first. She's got the holy symbols and the divine sight, after all.
