In Halie's own words
I am this is my burden and my duty. I may be tired, but I am here for a reason—to keep our little band from stumbling into disaster through hubris or carelessness. The world is full of hidden dangers, ancient curses that can snare the unwary as easily as any physical trap. I will not let us fall to such a fate. So yes, I might sound like a nagging mother at times—I am the only one here thinking beyond our immediate needs and wants. Someone must be the voice of reason when everyone else is eager for gold or glory.
