As Varikka charges forward, her mace swinging through the air, the shadowy figure lunges forward to meet her. But just as their blades are about to clash, the ground beneath them gives a final, ominous lurch. The sound of falling rocks grows louder, and the chamber begins to shake. Varikka's injured ankle screams in pain as she stumbles, her mace wavering wildly as she tries to maintain her balance. Merrin grabs her arm, steadying her just in time. The shadowy figure, however, is not so lucky. It is pinned beneath a pile of rubble, its form still shifting and changing as it struggles to free itself.

I stagger back from the collapsing pile of rubble, my breath coming in short, sharp gasps as I try to catch my balance on my injured ankle. Merrin is beside me, her eyes wide with fear as she scans the darkness ahead.

"Is it...is it dead?" she whispers, her voice trembling slightly.

I shake my head, my jaw set with grim determination. "I don't know," I mutter, my eyes fixed on the shadowy form still shifting beneath the rocks. "But we can't afford to stick around and find out."

With that, I turn and stagger forward, my mace clutched tightly in my hand as I try to navigate through the treacherous passageways ahead. The sound of falling rocks grows louder behind us, and I know that we have only moments before this whole place comes crashing down on top of us.

"Merrin, we need to find a way out of here," I hiss, my voice strained as I try to keep my balance. "And fast."

But even as I say the words, I know that it's not going to be easy. This tower is ancient and full of traps and horrors, and we're ill-equipped to deal with whatever lies ahead. But we have no choice - we have to keep moving forward, even if it means facing whatever horrors this place has in store for us.

So I tighten my grip on my mace, my muscles tensed and ready for the fight ahead. Whatever comes our way, I'm prepared to face it head-on. And with Merrin at my side, I know that we have a chance - slim though it may be - of making it out of this cursed place alive.

But even as we stagger forward through the darkness, I can't shake the feeling that something is watching us from the shadows, waiting to ambush us at any moment. The air is thick with a sense of impending doom, and I know that we're in for a fight - one that will test our strength, our wits, and our courage to the limit.

And as the sound of falling rocks grows louder behind us, I know that we have no choice but to keep moving forward, no matter what horrors this place has in store. Because if we don't, we'll be crushed beneath the weight of the collapsing tower - and all our struggles will have been for nothing.
