As I finish the incantation, the orb in Merrin's hand begins to glow with an intense light. She takes it, focusing her will to fly as instructed. With a burst of magical energy, she lifts off the ground, hovering above the water for a moment before pushing off and soaring upwards. The chamber erupts in a cloud of silt and debris as she flies towards the opening we created earlier. However, just as she's about to reach it, a loud crack echoes through the water, and the ground beneath us gives way, sending us both tumbling back down into the depths. The tentacled horror has moved, its tentacles snaking out from the darkness to ensnare us once more. We're now trapped, with no clear escape route in sight.
