Round 233 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The crystal orb hums louder, its light intensifying as the Keeper of Time's ethereal form begins to weave a pattern of rhythmic motion around us. Seraphine's divination spell casts a shimmering aura around her, revealing a complex web of timelines that seem to be converging on the orb. The patterns dance across the surface of the orb, responding to each of our movements as if we are being pulled into the fabric of time itself. As the orb's light envelops us, I feel the boundaries between our individual existences begin to blur. The hum builds to a crescendo, and then suddenly, everything freezes in place. The orb's light fades, and an expectant silence fills the air. It is now Jeane's turn to speak: "What do we do next?"
I stare at the shimmering orb before us, my mind racing through potential spells that might allow us to synchronize with this temporal entity. Three failed trials have led us here—I cannot fail again. The knowledge that Seraphine's reflection could be lurking nearby adds an extra layer of urgency; I need her magic for backup, but also need to ensure she remains stable. My wings twitch with barely contained panic—this place feels wrong in every sense possible. "Seraphine," I say, my voice controlled despite the terror inside me, "what did you see in that timeline weave? We need to understand what success looks like before we try it."
I watch as the shimmering orb before us pulses with an eerie light, its surface swirling with intricate patterns that seem to defy the laws of physics itself. Jeane's question hangs in the air, a challenge I must meet with all the knowledge at my disposal. My mind races through the complex weave of temporal threads I saw in my divination spell, trying to decipher the meaning behind their convergence.
"The patterns are... chaotic," I begin, my voice trembling slightly as I struggle to put into words the overwhelming complexity of what I witnessed. "They're like a thousand different versions of us, all existing simultaneously but separate. Each one performing an identical action, yet in slightly different timelines."
I take a deep breath, trying to calm the frantic beating of my heart. "The orb seems to be a nexus—a point where all these timelines intersect. To synchronize with it... we need to find a way to exist as one cohesive entity across all those parallel realities."
I look at Jeane, then Merrin, their expressions mirroring the fear and determination I feel within myself. "It's going to require absolute precision in our movements and actions. One wrong step in one timeline could unravel everything in the others. And if Seraphine—my reflection—is out there somewhere, she might be trying to disrupt our synchronization."
My hands tremble as I reach into my pouch for my components, preparing another spell. "We need a binding magic—something that can hold us together through the temporal distortion. It won't be easy, but it might be our only chance to survive this trial intact."
I meet Jeane's gaze, seeing the same grim acceptance in her eyes that I feel in my own heart. "This is going to hurt. We're going to have to push past every instinct for self-preservation and move as one being across all realities. Are you ready for that?"
