The gaunt woman's coal-black eyes bore into them with an unsettling intensity. "The trials will test your courage, your wits, and your resolve," she intones, her voice like a sigh from beyond the grave. "You may begin by choosing which trial to face first." She gestures to a nearby console, where several options are displayed on a holographic screen: The Labyrinth of Reflections, the Trial of the Elements, and the Chamber of Whispers. As she speaks, the air in the chamber seems to grow heavier, as if the very fabric of reality is warping around them.

Jeane leans closer to Seraphine, her wings twitching with barely-contained agitation. "Let me get this straight—we're trapped in a collapsing tower, about to be buried alive, and our only hope is to play along with some ancient spirit's death-by-quest game?" Her crimson eyes dart between Seraphine's concerned face and the gaunt figure in tattered robes, who watches them with an unnerving stillness. "The Labyrinth of Reflections," she mutters darkly. "Probably more of your reflection's bullshit—we just escaped one fucking maze."

I take a deep breath, trying to calm the frantic beating of my heart as I stare at the gaunt figure in tattered robes. Her words echo through my mind—the trials, the tests of courage and wit and resolve. It sounds like some kind of twisted game, but what choice do we have? The tower is collapsing around us, and our only hope lies in whatever power this archive contains. I turn to Jeane, my expression serious despite the chaos swirling within me. "Jeane, you're right—we don't know what these trials entail. But the alternative is certain death if this tower collapses completely. We need to find a way out of here, and if that means playing along with whatever sick game this spirit has cooked up... then we play along."
