Seraphine's sharp elven gaze swept over the chamber, taking in every detail despite the oppressive darkness. The glyphs here were more complex than anything they'd encountered before—intricate patterns that seemed to dance across the walls, pulsing with an inner light that matched her own rapidly beating heart.

This magic... it's unlike anything I've ever studied, she thought. I should be able to decipher this. To understand it. But the knowledge keeps slipping away, like sand through my fingers.

She could feel the power in this place—ancient, vast, and utterly beyond their current comprehension. The air itself seemed alive here, thick with potential energy that made her skin tingle and her magic hum in response.

We need to be careful, she told herself firmly. One wrong step could trigger something we can't control.

Jeane moved forward cautiously, her wings half-spread for balance as much as protection. The ground beneath their feet was unstable—cracked and crumbling in places—and the constant low rumble of shifting stone filled the air.

"We need to find Merrin," Jeane said, her voice tight with tension. "And we need to do it quickly. Before this whole place comes down on our heads."

Seraphine nodded slowly, her gaze still fixed on the glyphs. "Agreed. But we can't rush blindly into this. The magic here... it's too powerful." She paused, then added reluctantly, "We need to proceed with extreme caution."

Another section of ceiling crumbled above them, sending a cascade of rocks tumbling down. Jeane instinctively moved closer to Seraphine, her heart rate spiking. This place is trying to kill us, she thought desperately. We need to find Merrin and get out. Before we're both buried alive.

But even as the thought formed, she knew it wasn't that simple. The magic here was calling to something deep within her—something primal and terrifying. She could feel it awakening powers she'd never fully understood or controlled.
