Round 111 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The shimmering path leads them deeper into the hidden chamber, its pulsing light illuminating ancient symbols etched into the walls. As they proceed, the air thickens with an eerie, unnatural silence. The Bound Spirit's form stirs more violently within its circle, its eyes fixed on Seraphine with an unblinking malevolence.
I watch Seraphine leap onto that shimmering path without a second thought, her reckless bravery both infuriating and admirable. The sound of Merrin's scream still echoes in my ears—I know we can't leave them to whatever fate awaits in that hidden chamber. But there has to be a better way than just leaping blindly into an obvious trap.
I feel a chill run down my spine as I step onto the shimmering path, its cool light illuminating the ancient symbols etched into the walls of the hidden chamber. The air grows thick with an eerie, unnatural silence, broken only by the muffled groans of the collapsing tower above us and the distant screams from below.
The Bound Spirit's form stirs more violently within its circle, its eyes fixed on me with an unblinking malevolence that makes my skin crawl. It's as if it has been waiting for this moment, for someone to finally come close enough to witness its torment. I can feel the dark energy radiating from it, a palpable force that seems to push against my skin.
I instinctively reach for the hilt of my mace, the cool metal a familiar comfort in my hand. My eyes dart around the chamber, searching for any other threats, any sign of what might be lurking in the shadows cast by the flickering runes. This place feels alive, but not with life—with something twisted and malevolent.
Jeane's voice cuts through my thoughts, sharp and warning. "Seraphine, we need to be careful here. We have no idea what kind of magic is at work in this place."
She's right, of course. This isn't a simple dungeon crawl; it’s an ancient site of dark power, and we are intruders. The thought sends another jolt of fear through me, but beneath it, a strange thrill of discovery. As a scholar, I have always been drawn to forbidden knowledge, to the secrets buried in places like this.
I take another step forward, my voice dropping to a hushed murmur. "Look at these runes. They're unlike anything I've ever seen. It could be a key to understanding the binding magic."
Halie, who has been silent until now, speaks up, her tone laced with both awe and apprehension. "They’re beautiful, aren't they? But also terrifying."
I nod slowly, my gaze still fixed on the pulsing symbols. Beautiful and terrifying indeed—that seems to be the theme of this entire adventure so far. I feel a sudden urge to get closer, to study them more intently, but the warning look in Jeane's eyes stops me short.
"I agree," I say, trying to sound more confident than I feel. "We should proceed with caution. But we need answers. And if these runes hold some clue... it might be our only hope of freeing Merrin and Halie."
I turn my attention back to the Bound Spirit, its form now writhing more frantically within its confines. Its mouth opens in a silent scream, a chilling sight that seems to echo the pain we felt from Merrin. I can almost feel its suffering as a physical pressure in the air around us.
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what I know must come next. We have to find out what this thing wants, what its test is. And to do that... I may have to get even closer than I am now. The thought fills me with dread, but also a strange, morbid curiosity. This is the heart of darkness itself, and we've walked right into it.
