The air in the hidden chamber behind the shifting bookshelf door was thick with magic—ancient and twisted, clinging to everything like cobwebs. Halie moved carefully along the narrow corridor, her torchlight flickering ominously off the ancient stone walls. The sound of running water grew louder as she progressed deeper into the chamber. Finally, she rounded a corner and found herself in a small cavern-like room.

A crystal-clear pool dominated the center of the space, its surface perfectly still despite the sound of flowing water nearby. The liquid within seemed to glow faintly from within, casting eerie shadows across the walls. And there, floating just beneath the surface, was Merrin. Her eyes were closed, her form completely still except for the gentle rise and fall of her chest with each breath. Halie dropped to her knees beside the pool's edge, peering into its depths. "Merrin! Can you hear me? Wake up!"*

Above, on the crumbling catwalk, Jeane inched forward carefully. Her crimson eyes fixed on the darkness below where Merrin had fallen, and she could hear Halie's voice echoing up from the abyss. The precarious walkway groaned under her weight, and she tested each step with agonizing care. "Merrin!" Her voice cut through the oppressive silence of the tower, a desperate cry for her friend's safety.

The Keeper of the Test raised its spectral hand, and the dark energy erupted from its fingers once more. The air around Merrin's form distorted as if reality itself was bending to accommodate the Keeper's power. "Truth or trial?" The creature's burning gaze fixed on Merrin, and the very stones of the chamber seemed to vibrate with anticipation.

Jeane eyes Merrin's changed form warily, a cold dread settling in her stomach. This whole setup stinks like a trap—the shifting bookshelf door, the collapsing catwalk, Merrin's fall, and now this... test? The Keeper's question hung heavy in the air: truth or trial? The burning eye of the creature pulsed with malevolent intent. "Merrin... can you hear me?" *Her voice was tight with concern, but underneath ran a current of suspicion. She knew her friend's impulsive courage all too well—had Merrin stumbled into this willingly?**
