Round 4

As Varrika stumbles forward, her heavy mace clattering to the stone floor, a faint hum of magical energy emanates from the trapdoor, causing the air around it to ripple with an otherworldly glow. The whispering in the trees grows louder, the soft susurrations coalescing into a single, ominous word: "Descend." Jeane's crimson eyes narrow as she kneels beside Seraphine at the edge of the trapdoor, her wings folding close as she leans in to examine the runes more closely. The air around it pulses with ancient power, and she can feel the binding magic trying to resist her inspection. Merrin's heart hammers in her chest as she inches closer to the trapdoor, peering into the swirling darkness below, her wary glance darting to Varrika before returning to the depths.
